It’s official, #Ralia are Bollywood’s leading power couple. Since her debut with ‘Student of the Year’, Alia Bhatt has proved her talent time and again with one blockbuster after another, whereas Ranbir Kapoor has enjoyed the top spot for years, thanks to his killer looks and acting. Now, on April 14, 2022, the Bollywood’s It couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at their residence in Mumbai. The intimate wedding, with just the duo’s close friends and family in attendance, was held “in our favourite spot - the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship,” wrote Alia.
In just a few hours since the pheras, the blushing bride shared pictures from inside their special occasion. While everyone speculated the two would wear Sabyasachi, who would have thought they’d choose an ivory colour scheme? For their nuptials, the duo matched in gorgeous creations by the maestro of Indian couture.
When it comes to Alia’s sense of style, minimalism and elegance take the forefront. The actress has always been a huge fan of lehengas and saris, and Sabyasachi has been one of her go-to designers. For her D-day, Alia's choices were no different. She picked a gorgeous ivory organza sari that fuses together Indian traditional elegance and modern glamour.
Alia stuck to a classic Sabyasachi ensemble, the only difference being the colour–ivory. Radiating beauty, Alia’s pastel colour was a refreshing change from the usual reds and pinks. However much like her style, Alia kept it simple and traditional. Speaking of the sari’s details, Sabyasachi wrote, “For the wedding ceremony Alia Bhatt wears a hand dyed ivory organza sari embroidered with fine tilla work and an embroidered handwoven tissue veil.” She further dolled up her look with a choker, bangles, jhumkas and matha patti by Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery featuring uncut diamonds and hand strung pearls. Her makeup, too, was simple–think dewy base and nude lipgloss.
Ranbir complemented his bride’s style to perfection in a crisp ivory Sabyasachi sherwani with embroidery and uncut diamond buttons. A silk organza safa and shawl with zari marori embroidery rounded off the groom’s outfit. His kilangi by Sabyasachi Heritage Jewellery featured uncut diamonds, emeralds and pearls and a multistrand pearl necklace.
While we can't believe this finally happened, we also can't contain our excitement. The couple look overjoyed and we are elated.
