Amruta Patel married Aneesh Dattani on 23rd July 2016. She says: “Instagram was a massive source of wedding outfit inspiration. I found my dress in a boutique in Santacruz Mumbai while on a shopping holiday in India. I wanted my look to tie in with the venue, so chose a palette of pastel pink and green – a change from traditional bridal red.

I wanted my décor to tie in with my look, so continued the pastel theme and coordinated my family’s outfits too, in keeping with the English country venue. Poundon House works with a selection of suppliers, including florist Love From Katie. I booked her to design my floral arrangements as she was recommended and had experience decorating a mandap. One of my favourite floral features was an ombré curtain which formed the backdrop of the mandap.”

The Entrance
“I made my big entrance in a hired rickshaw from Tukshop that went by the name Marigold. I adored the quirky vintage Indian touch, and knew it would make for hilarious pictures when my family tried to stop us leaving in our newlywed getaway vehicle. Luckily the weather held up and we said our ‘I Do’s’ outside in a flower-strewn mandap on the green lawns. I’ll never forget it.”

The Reception
“We booked Jasmine Elcock from Britain’s Got Talent to perform our first dance song - Mirrors by Justin Timberlake. It’s a very special song for us and Jasmine performed it beautifully.”

The Venue
“A bridesmaid recommended Poundon House. She’d earmarked for her own wedding but couldn’t fit her guestlist. We were having a smaller do, so it was perfect. We loved the country views, lavender gardens and the versatility of a covered terrace, lawns and a marquee to accommodate up to 300 people.
