What a fantastic year 2019 has been for you! How have you seen the success of Housefull 4?
One can’t predict the results of a film, or how well it’s going to do at the box office, but I had so much fun shooting the film! The film doing well is the cherry on the cake, so I can easily say I’ve had one of the best years of my career to date.

What matters more to you, box office success or critical acclamation?
For me, I believe we make a film for the audience. The audience are my critics, and if they love the film, that’s the most important thing. As long as I have that acclaim from the audience, that’s all that matters. At a push, I’d say box office success is important, because if a good film is appreciated, the chances of making a film afterwards with similar calibre is higher.

What’s a recent film you would have loved to have been a part of?
Ek Hasina Thi - I’d love to do a film like that, but the actors cast did such justice to it. I believe kismet plays a very important role in your life, and everyone gets what they work for. But I’d like to do film that’s an original and written especially for me.

Describe your dream man...
It’s hard to put it in words but it’s about the connection you feel. Looks and character come secondary. If the connection is right, everything else just falls into place. After all, we don’t mind making changes in our lives for our loved ones.

Things seem to be going rock steady with Pulkit Samrat, do we hear wedding bells soon?
Pulkit and I don’t intend to get married anytime soon. We’ve not talked about it, so this is a very awkward question! He is a wonderful person, he is so easy-going, we get along like friends do. He’s my best friend before my boyfriend, and I hope that continues because friendship is something that lasts a lifetime. We are like two friends that fell in love, and it’s the best feeling in the world.

you look for in a relationship? Respect, understanding and compatibility.
What would your Dream Wedding be?
I don’t know what my dream wedding would be exactly, but what I’d love is to do is run away and get married and capture it all in slow-motion! I’d love to be a bride, and be all dressed up… the ideal scenario would be to have a temple wedding.

What’s your most favourite romantic scene from a film?
It’s actually one of mine, from Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, where I star alongside Rajkummar Rao. In the scene, it’s my birthday, and he wants to kiss me for the very first time. There’s so much innocent and sweetness in that scene, I think every girl and every guy would want to be in that situation. It’s one of the most romantic scenes ever.
How have you found shooting for the Khush Wedding cover story?
It’s been a dream. Everything has been beautifully planned, and the day went by so quickly. My time here has shown me exactly what a successful team really is! Khush Magazine has been my best magazine cover experience ever!

What’s your favourite look from the story?
The Tarun Tahiliani outfit I wore for the cover was outstanding. I loved the way it was styled, the jewellery, I love all of it!
So, what does the year 2020 have in store for you?
There’s so much in store for 2020 that I can’t talk about just yet! I’ve just finished shootings for Taish with Bejoy Nambiar. For an actor to be part of a Bejoy Nambiar film is a very big deal so I consider myself very lucky.
